Meeting with the Minister of Health in 2019: Lieutenant General (Ret.) Dr. dr. Terawan Agus Putranto, Sp.Rad(K).

On December 20, 2019, ASPI, together with other organizations such as the Stem Cell Consortium, REJASELINDO, and PERBAJI, had the opportunity to meet with the 2019 Minister of Health, Lieutenant General (Ret.) Dr. dr. Terawan Agus Putranto, Sp.Rad(K). The Stem Cell Consortium was represented by dr. Poengky, SpBP; REJASELINDO by dr. Bintang Soetjahjo, Sp.OT(K); and PERBAJI by dr. Heri Suroto, Sp.OT(K).

During the meeting, dr. Rahyussalim, Sp.OT(K), as Chairman of ASPI for the 2019–2022 period, conveyed his aspirations regarding the advancement of stem cell research in Indonesia. The Minister of Health warmly welcomed these developments and expressed full support for stem cell, cell-based, and metabolite research, with the expectation that such research would ultimately result in therapeutic solutions for various degenerative diseases in Indonesia.

In addition, the meeting focused on discussing strategies to realize Indonesia’s goal of becoming self-reliant in the production and utilization of stem cell, cell-based, and metabolite therapies, ensuring that the nation becomes a leading provider and user of these therapies within its own country.
